From weddings and anniversaries to corporate and private lunches, dinners, parties and events, Duncan delights in bringing you a quality musical service. With music to suit every taste and fees to match any budget, it is no wonder that he has earned a fantastic reputation in the Perth music entertainment scene. Supported by years of experience in the music business you are invited to consider booking Duncan and his colleagues to provide background music for your next special event.

FEES

While Duncan often performs solo, he encourages you to also consider booking his guitar and violin duo or his three piece band for your function. Following is the list of fees for booking Duncan’s musical services:

• solo guitar - $200 for the first hour and $125 for each additional hour.

• guitar and violin (or flute) duo - $250 for the first hour and $200 for each additional hour.

• trio - $375 for the first hour and $250 for each additional hour.

While a minimum one hour booking is required, additional time can be booked in blocks of 30 minutes, thus reducing the additional cost by half. For extended bookings, Duncan is happy to negotiate even greater reductions to the playing fees. A non-refundable booking fee/deposit of $50 is requested upon confirmation of the booking. This will be deducted from the performance fee upon completion of the service.

WEDDINGS

Duncan can provide some light background music in the 15-20 minutes prior to the actual start time of the ceremony to keep your guests entertained. During the ceremony there is usually music for the processional (walking down the aisle), during the signing of the registry and also at the conclusion of the ceremony. Depending on the nature of your ceremony there may be the opportunity to have some more music played during candle-lighting or ‘unity’ proceedings or to accompany the singing of hymns etc. He can also provide music for as long as required after the ceremony while guests are mingling or as photos are being taken.

MUSIC

From a strong foundation as a classical musician, Duncan easily branches out and explores the cool sounds of Latin America, the fiery sounds of Flamenco and the suave sounds of Jazz in addition to your favourite pop standards. Similarly, Duncan’s other groups Duo Diavolo and August Third bring energy and passion into every performance. They promise a wide range of musical styles from original compositions, up-beat world music, cool Jazz, Tangos, Latin standards, funky French music, Celtic favourites and of course the more traditional classical repertoire. Although Duncan has a large range of music, if he’s required to arrange or purchase special requests, a small fee will be charged.

EQUIPMENT

Duncan enjoys using a variety of beautiful instruments upon which he performs his music. From a ‘cut-away’ acoustic style guitar, to the Yamaha ‘silent’ guitar, your guests are sure to be intrigued and captivated. Duncan uses a variety of systems to amplify his music so that it can be enjoyed by all. One of these systems is a state-of-the-art AER amplifier that is usually used for indoor settings. The other is a smaller, portable, battery-powered amplifier that can be taken anywhere from the beach to a vineyard and anywhere in-between.
